Nepal Red Cross youth volunteers Mr. Narayan Shrestha and Mr. Rajan Shrivastav got the International Volunteer Day V-Awards 2017 on the occasion of International Volunteer Day (IVD) December 5. The award programme with a theme 'volunteering in times of crisis: resilience and solidarity' was jointly organized by UNV, VSO, Peace Corps, JICA, KOICA, CECI and RUNVAN  in Nepal.

The 2017 Statutory Meetings of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) starts tomorrow in Antalya,Turkey.

The programme include the 21st session of the General Assembly (GA) of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Movement components forum,  meeting of Council of Delegates are taking place from 6 to 11 November 2017 in Turkey.

Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) this week released a mobile application (app) ‘Prathamik Upachar’ in presence of famous artist duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya. This simple and free first aid related app will help Nepalese language speakers living across the world to access necessary information in emergency situations and help in saving lives.

Health posts delivering quality services in quake-hit districts

Well-equipped local health facilities in remote areas of various quake-hit districts are delivering quality health services. A case in point could be Lagarche Health Post at Lagarche in Sindhupalchowk district. The locals have been receiving medical services from the health post, housed in a pre-fab building with modern medical equipment and trained health assistants.

Prestigious award for NRCS Chairman

According to Home Ministry of Nepal, Nepal Red Cross Chairman Sanjiv Thapa has been awarded with the prestigious JanasewaShree for his social work. Government of Nepal decided to confer award him on the occasion of Republic Day. He said "It's a respect that I've got for my long time humanitarian service. This has inspired me to be involved more in social work."

Nepal Red Cross Society organized various programme throughout the country together with the Red Cross Movement partners with the theme of the year- Red Cross: Everywhere for everyone.

The World Red Cross Red Crescent day, May 8 was celebrated amid a ceremony held in Kathmandu yesterday as a national programme. Acting Chairman of Nepal Red Cross hoisted Red Cross flag at NRCS National Headquarters in Kathmandu to mark the day. He said the founder of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement was a great personality and he has always inspired the people toward humanity.
