Dibya Raj Poudel,
A Partnership Framework Agreement (2018) was signed between Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Mr. Andre Paquet, Head of Kathmandu ICRC Mission and Secretary General of Nepal Red Cross Society, Mr. Dev Ratna Dhakwa signed the agreement on March 28, 2018.
Nepal Red Cross Society will be assisted financially and technically in 2018 by International Committee of the Red Cross Society (ICRC) for capacity development and operational activities related to restoring family links, support to families of missing persons, communication and legal base strengthening.
Mr. Indra Bahadur KC, acting Executive Director welcomed representatives of both organization's representatives in the programme. Since there are no field offices of ICRC currently in Nepal, it takes Nepal Red Cross Society as a hand for any field level activities, said Paquet during the occasion.
NRCS Secretary General Dhakhwa said, "With collaborated support from the ICRC, the NRCS, as part of the International Red Cross Movement, continues to strengthen its services to address the needs of people in connection to conflict, natural disasters or migration."
The ICRC and the NRCS have been partners since 1998 in Nepal locally after the ten years' long armed conflict intensified.
