Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) is one of the largest humanitarian organization in Nepal working for vulnerable people throughout the country, and those in need of humanitarian assistance in time of disasters. In response to the last year's devastating Earthquake, Nepal Red Cross Society has been implementing large-scale recovery operations in selected 14 districts, namely Gorkha, Dhading, Makwanpur, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Kavrepalanchok, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, and Okhaldhunga. Efforts are being made to address recovery needs in other districts as well. Therefore, Nepal Red Cross Society is planning to fill the following positions immediately. The actual required number for each position may change at the time of recruitment.

Vacancy No 1. Position: Livelihood Officer

  • Duty station: Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Makawanpur, Okhaldhunga, Sindhuli, Ramechhap
  • Required Number: 10      
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor degree in agriculture or  forestry or Business Management or any other related field
  • Experience: At least two years of experience of working in income generation, Self-help group or livelihood in rural and urban context.
  • Purpose:  To translate strategies of livelihood framework into operational activities by planning, designing, implementing and monitoring of NRCS response.

Vacancy No 2. Position: Program Officer 

  • Duty station: Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur
  • Required Number: 3
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Experience: At least two years of working experience in water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) and promotion of WASH activities

 

  • Job purpose: To support Project Coordinator in day-to-day management of programme related issues, including laying out effective and efficient programme planning

 

Vacancy No 3. Position: WASH Officer 

  • Duty station: Kavre, Sindhupalchok, Okhaldhunga, Sindhuli
  • Required Number: 4
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in public health or sociology or any discipline
  • Experience: At least two years of working experience in water hygiene and sanitation, gravity flow and promotion of WASH activities
  • Job Purpose: The WASH Officer will works closely with expatriate staff and programme team members for designing, implementing and monitoring of water, hygiene, sanitation and health activities. The person will follow a community-based and other approaches relevant in local context. 

Vacancy No 4. Position: program Officer (Reconstruction)

  • Duty station:  Kavre  
  • Required Number: 1         
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Health Education or related field
  • Experience: At least two years of working experience in related field.
  • Job Purpose: To lead health facilities reconstruction project in the target areas.  Basic function is to develop and review health facility related project proposal, co-ordinate with local authorities to secure needed approval and implement community activities as needed.

Vacancy No 5. Position: Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer  

  • Duty station: Kavre
  • Required Number:-1
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in gender study
  • Experience: At least two years of working experience on managing protection, gender equality, social inclusion programs (including Child Protection or Gender Based Violence) in development and/or emergency context
  • Job Purpose: To facilitate gender and social inclusion mainstreaming process throughout recovery programming, and contribute to institutional accountability to vulnerable and affected populations. The role seeks to ensure that gender and diversity inclusive strategies are integrated throughout recovery plans as cross- cutting theme.

 

  • Duty station: NRCS Head Quarters (frequent field visit to project districts)
  • Required Number: 2         
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in needs assessments, planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Job Purpose: The PMER Officer is a key resource person who works closely with  technical team at headquarters, and districts in planning, M&E and reporting

Vacancy No 7. Position: Information Management Officer

  • Duty station: NRCS Head Quarters (frequent field visit to project districts)
  • Required Number: 1         
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in development projects and use of GIS, database systems and other information management tools and mechanisms.
  • Job purpose: To centralize, aggregate, and analyze Earthquake Response Operation information from districts and technical team, and provide information to ERO technical team, PMER team, ERO management. This includes collating all existing assessment data from different districts to assist in combined analysis and improved programme management through effective use of data and information.

 

Vacancy No 8. Position: Procurement Officer

  • Duty station: NRCS Headquarters
  • Required Number: 1
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Management 
  • Experience: At least 2 year of experience in Logistics management especially in procurement, inventory management, supply chain management.

Job Purpose: The Procurement Officer will provide a hand to purchasing transactions for equipment, materials, supplies, capital goods, and services.

 

Vacancy No 9. Position: Health Officer

  • Duty Station: Sindhupalchok, Kavre, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Makawanpur
  • Required Number: 5
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health
  • Experience:  At least two years of working experience in Health sector
  • Job Purpose: Work closely with the District Program Coordinator, other stakeholders including expatriate partners, to translate health strategies into operational activities by designing, planning, implementation and monitoring of NRCS recovery activities.

 

Vacancy No 10. Position: WASH Officer (Engineer)

  • Duty station: Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Makawanpur
  • Required Number: 3
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: University degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience: At least two years of work experience in water source mapping, gravity flow water supply system design, implementation, monitoring, training and field reporting
  • Job Purpose: To lead all WASH activities in the field. The person will work closely with district and village level authorities for the facilitation of construction related works and will provide additional technical skill to beneficiaries on safe construction as well. The person should involve in activities such as planning, preparation and review of contract administration, designing and estimation of construction plan, and monitoring quality of WASH activities. 

 

Vacancy No 11. Position: Shelter Officer (Engineer)

  • Duty station: Dhading and NRCS Headquarters, Kathmandu
  • Required Number: 2
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: University degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Experience: at least two years of experience in voluntary or paid experience with NRCS or with any other I/NGOs or CBOs 
  • Job Purpose: To coordinate with WASH, Health and Livelihood technical staff at the NRCS district Chapters, and local communities to ensure the success of an ongoing capacity building/training project for building-back-safer, and to transfer insights and lessons learnt into the planning and setup of the shelter construction project.

Vacancy No 12. Position: Architect Officer (Architect Engineer)

  • Duty station:  NRCS Headquarters, Kathmandu
  • Required Number: 1
  • Contract: Initially one year contract with possibility of extension
  • Minimum Qualifications: University degree in architecture engineering
  • Experience: at least two years of experience in voluntary or paid experience in architecture with Red Cross movement or with any other GOs, I/NGOs
  • Job Purpose: The Architecture will have to involve and assist to manage Safer House Designing, Planning, Technical Details, and Architectural Model Making, improve development techniques for the safer building/shelter and other all Civil and Architectural project related Technical Drawings.
